During this introduction you will see a demonstration of the technical development and business user rule management environments of the WebSphere ILOG BRMS, with a focus on how it enables IT-Business alignment in the management and governance of automated decision log to facilitate the implementation/deployment of rule changes that affect processes and applications across the enterprise.
10:30am-11:15am - Customer Case Study
Gain insight from a customer's use of the WebSphere ILOG BRMS to provide more personalized client interactions, improving their ability to provide travel reservation pricing decisions with increased precision based on a complex combination of search and inventory factors. In addition, you will learn how this customer has been able to dramatically reduce the time required to implement new offerings and changes to pricing options.
11:15am–12pm - Understanding the Synergies for Business Rules and Business Process Management
Learn how business rules and business process management solutions complement each other in process improvement initiatives, and why a coupled BRMS - BPM approach increases the accuracy and flexibility of business systems. This portion of the workshop will include a demonstration of how the WebSphere ILOG BRMS integrates with IBM WebSphere BPM technology.

Brett Stineman is the Senior Product Marketing Manager for IBM's WebSphere ILOG Business Rules Management product family. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in marketing, product management and operations at various enterprise software companies, focusing on business rules management, business process management, content management and hosted applications.
Jeff Goodhue is a Technical Sales Engineer at IBM, certified in IBM WebSphere ILOG Business Rules Management Systems. Working directly with clients in BRMS and BPM development, support and technical sales capacities, he enjoys dynamic interactions between business and IT. Skilled in both Java and .NET technologies, Jeff has focused his career on emerging and influential technologies that enable business users to engage in the change process. While studying Systems Engineering at the University of Arizona College of Engineering, in addition to software engineering, Jeff focused on communication, model-centric design and complete state analysis.
Darren Koch joined Hotwire as a business analyst on the Pricing Team in May 2004, bringing experience in analytics, product management, and optimization. As Sr. Manager of Revenue Management, Darren manages a team of advanced analysts that focus on applying predictive analytics to marketing. Prior to Hotwire, Darren helped develop the Wireless Data business at Telephia, a Nielson company. Darren received an M.S. in Operations Research from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University and B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the Allegheny College. Additionally, Darren is an M.B.A. candidate at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley.
