Offering Description:
Help create an SOA program and/or Rollout strategy. Realizing the
benefits of SOA requires the development of a coordinated program that
integrates enterprise and business goals and concerns into a strategy
that rolls SOA out to projects while simultaneously building architecture,
governance and infrastructure for the enterprise. This offering brings the
experience of creating and tailoring SOA programs, architectures and applications
for numerous companies to bear to provide the client with the optimum solution
for their particular requirements.
Offering Outline:
The scope of the engagement depends on the goals, maturity and environment
of the client. Typical activities can include:
- Determination of business goals and strategy as related to SOA.
- Development of high-level architectural vision for SOA – Architecture
Vision Document
- Development of SOA Rollout Strategy – SOA Strategy Document
- Development of SOA Rollout Plan – Detailed SOA Plan and Roadmap
- Organization of SOA Program Office
- Selection of Pilot or POC Project
Offering Objectives:
Work will be done both on-site and off-site. On-site will be to collect
information, create initial drafts, conduct working sessions, review roadmaps
and drafts. Off-site will be to create detailed plans and documents.
Instructor Biography:
Mike Rosen is an independent consultant providing advice and assistance on the design and implementation of SOA, business, application and enterprise architecture. Mr. Rosen is also Co-chair of the BrainStorm SOA Conference Series and Editorial Director of SOA Institute. He has years of experience in the architecture and design of applications for global corporations and 20+ years of product development experience for distributed technologies.
Target Audience:
Any industry can use SOA. Typical industries are information intensive
such as: Banking, Brokerage, Insurance, Retail, Manufacturing and Telecommunications. The
work will be done with PMO and project leaders. Consultant will need
access to existing architecture documents, business/IT leaders, architects,
senior technology people, and project leads.
